Help

A quick answer. Then back to it.

Getting started with SnipMaker, without the long manual.

Three steps to your first snip.

1. Get the beta

Request your licence, verify your email and download the Windows app.

2. Capture and explain

Press Ctrl + Alt + S, select an area and add arrows, words or markers.

3. Copy it anywhere

Copy the finished image into your message or document. Reopen the editable original in your Snip Library.

Good questions.

What is SnipMaker?

SnipMaker is a Windows screenshot capture and annotation app. Add arrows, text, shapes, numbered markers, highlights and blur, then copy or save your finished image. The local Snip Library keeps your annotations editable.

What does beta mean?

Beta is the testing phase of the latest release. You can use SnipMaker in your own work and tell us what works, what feels awkward and what needs fixing. Some rough edges are expected; keep a separate copy of anything important.

How do I get my beta licence?

Enter your email on the beta page, accept the terms and follow the verification email. We create one 28-day licence for your verified address and send the licence and private download link. Enter the same email and key in the Windows app to activate it.

Does the Windows download need Python?

No. The customer download includes the runtime it needs. Extract the ZIP, run INSTALL.cmd and activate the app. A current Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC and an internet connection for licensing are required.

Can I use the same beta licence on two computers?

No. One beta licence activates one Windows installation at a time. Contact the beta team when you need to move the allocation to a replacement device. Planned paid plans cover one, three or five active devices.

How do I earn the beta discount?

Send at least one honest feedback report during your beta for 50% off your first paid year. It can be a bug, an idea or a short account of your experience. You do not need to praise the app. Earlier offers already issued remain subject to their original terms.

Where are my screenshots saved?

Captures and editable projects are stored in your local Snip Library. SnipMaker does not upload them for licence checks. You decide what to copy, export or include in optional beta feedback. A folder synced by your own cloud backup service follows that service’s settings.

Can I change a screenshot after saving it?

Yes. Open the snip from your Snip Library to move or edit its annotations. A flattened image exported to another app does not contain the same editable objects; keep the library project to make changes later.

How do I use Arrow + Text?

Choose Arrow + Text and drag towards the point you want to explain. Type in the label at the tail. Finish editing to fit the box around the words. The arrow and label move together.

How do I send feedback?

Open Beta Feedback in the app. Add up to 5,000 words and up to ten images, review the upload notice and press Send. Your complete report and selected images are emailed to the beta team, and you receive a thank-you. Each beta user can submit ten reports.

Does SnipMaker work on a Mac?

Not yet. The downloadable app is for Windows. There is no Mac installer to download at present. Contact us to register your interest without buying a Windows licence for your Mac.

How does Refer & Earn work?

Open Refer & Earn in the app, accept the programme terms and share your own code or link. A new customer must become a paying subscriber before any credit is earned. Beta signups alone do not earn credit. The referral terms explain qualification, refunds and the free-year milestone.

What if the verification email does not arrive?

Check your spam or junk folder for an email from beta.snipmaker@entiserve.com. Use the newest link; verification links expire after 60 minutes. Request a fresh link once, or contact the beta team if you still need help.
